In the PDF file there are some typical questions about EDUCATION which might be asked in the GESE 7 conversation phase of the exam (*Please note, these are examples and don’t represent the actual questions of the exam).
It is best to print out the questions on card and then laminate them so you can use them again and again.
Here are some activities you can use the cards for. More can be found on the EFLMaterials blog here:
- Put the students in pairs and give them a set of cards. They take it in turns to take a card and ask their partner the question.
- Put the students in groups of three. One student is the examiner, another is the candidate and the third is an observer. Give the observer the GESE 7 Language Requirements Checklist. The examiner uses the conversation question cards to role-play the conversation phase of the exam with the candidate. The observer checks the language the candidate uses and notes down any language that could be improved. At the end of the role-play, the observer gives the candidate their feedback. Swap roles and repeat with different questions.
- Put students in small groups and give them a board game – you can use the generic board game image from the EFL Materials website. Each time they land on the question mark, they have to take a card, read it aloud, and answer the question. The other students decide if the answer is okay – if yes, the student stays on the square, if no, they go back to where they were on the board.
Have fun with the cards. Let us know some other typical questions in the comments box :)
