It’s Valentine’s Day this and maybe you want to do something about this festival with your students, but don’t want to waste precious class time? Here is an EFL Valentine’s Day Lesson B1-B2 level to use with your students. It includes an ISE style reading text about different Valentine’s Day customs around the world and is suitable for any B1 and B2 level students.
The EFL Valentine’s Day lesson is suitable for B1 and B2 level learners and is based around a reading text about Valentine’s Day customs around the world. It has a few pre-reading questions to get students thinking about Valentine’s Day, and then there is a 5-paragraph reading text. The students have to read and then complete 15 comprehension questions, similar to those on the ISE reading and writing Long Reading task 1 question. These are 5 paragraph-matching questions, find the true sentences questions, and then complete the sentences using words from the text.
After doing the reading, you might want to do some post-reading tasks too. You could ask students to find the vocabulary related to love and relationships in the text, and you could ask students to talk about and write about the Valentine’s Day customs in their country.
